INDIO – Today, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) issued the following statement regarding a letter of concern for Imperial Valley Healthcare District:
“Residents of Imperial County have voiced deep and growing concerns about the future of healthcare in our region, especially with the ongoing transition of services to the Imperial Valley Healthcare District (IVHD). The uncertainty surrounding this process has created widespread fear of the potential loss of vital hospital services that our community depends on.
As their Assemblyman, I share these concerns and believe it’s crucial that we take immediate action to address them. We cannot afford to leave our community in the dark about any additional adverse outcomes for the region’s healthcare system. It’s essential that this transition happens with full transparency, fiscal responsibility, and strong oversight. The health and well-being of our region depend on it and our residents deserve to have their voices heard every step of the way.
That is why I have sent a letter to the IVHD Board, requesting to be included in conversations about this process, so we can work together to address these concerns and ensure a secure future for healthcare in Imperial Valley.”
