ICYMI: Hispanic Caucus Hosts Economic Forum in Imperial Valley Amid Energy Concerns

INDIO – On Thursday, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) was joined by California Hispanic Legislative Caucus Co-Chair State Senator Suzette Martinez Valladares and hosted an Economic Forum with local business leaders and farmers on policies affecting Assembly District 36 and the State of California.

“Really, this is a forum for you to be able to communicate directly,” Gonzalez said. “But it’s also a way for me to highlight all the great things happening in Imperial County. I want to bring as many people as I can down to Imperial County to see what a gem we have here.”

“When I’m in Sacramento, I get the opportunity to talk about Imperial County, and people always ask me, ‘Where is that?’ I always say it’s the 9th largest agricultural county,” he added. “It’s the strength of California,” Gonzalez said…

Gonzalez spoke about fuel prices and concerns about energy policy. “Valero is pulling out of California. That is going to impact us significantly. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of talking, but when it comes to legislation, it’s the same old, same old…”
