SACRAMENTO – This week, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) spoke before the Subcommittee No. 2 on Human Services to oppose Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed cuts to In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS).
As the father of a son with cerebral palsy and spastic quadriplegia, Assemblyman Gonzalez understands firsthand the devastating impact these cuts would have—not only on his own family, but for countless Californians who rely on IHSS to survive.
He hears the voices of the disability community loud and clear. He remains committed to being their advocate and is calling on Governor Newsom to protect these essential services. For many, this isn’t about convenience—it’s about survival.
