Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez Receives Force of Nature Award from Power in Nature Coalition

SACRAMENTO, CA — This week Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) was honored with the Force of Nature Award by the Power in Nature Coalition, a statewide alliance of more than 300 community groups, environmental and conservation organizations, land trusts, Indigenous organizations, and Tribal members dedicated to protecting California’s natural and working lands.

The award recognizes Assemblyman Gonzalez’s leadership in advocating for the protection of public lands, including Chuckwalla National Monument, which lies within his Assembly district. Gonzalez has consistently emphasized the importance of community engagement, Tribal consultation, and responsible stewardship in public lands policy.

“Chuckwalla National Monument is more than a desert landscape, it is sacred land, a place of cultural significance, and a shared resource for families and communities across the region,” said Assemblyman Gonzalez. “Protecting public lands like Chuckwalla is about listening to local voices, honoring Tribal leadership, and being good stewards of places that belong to all of us.”

“I am honored to receive this recognition and grateful to stand alongside so many organizations and advocates working to protect California’s public lands,” Gonzalez added.
