Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez Statement on Independence Day

INDIO, CA – Today, Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) released the following statement celebrating America’s 250th birthday:

“I want to wish my constituents and all Californians a happy and safe Fourth of July. As a Marine Corps veteran who proudly served our nation for 21 years, I understand the sacrifice of those who have worn the uniform. Having traveled the world and served in combat, I know that while America is not perfect, it remains a beacon of hope and opportunity for millions around the globe. It is a nation worth defending and a nation worth preserving.

As we reflect on the past 250 years of our country’s history, let us also look ahead to the next 250 years and recommit ourselves to protecting the freedoms, values, and opportunities that make America the greatest nation on Earth. May God bless you, your family, the state of California and the United States of America.”
