INDIO, CA — Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio), a member of the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, and Tourism, today welcomed the announcement that the Los Angeles Lakers will relocate their NBA G League affiliate to the Coachella Valley, where the team will be rebranded as the Coachella Valley Lakers and begin play in the 2026–27 season. The team will host home games at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert.
“This is an exciting moment for the Coachella Valley and a major win for our region’s growing sports and entertainment economy,” said Assemblyman Gonzalez. “The arrival of the Coachella Valley Lakers builds on our strong history with the Lakers organization and further establishes our community as a premier destination for world-class events.
