Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez’s AB 2022 Advances Out of Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee

SACRAMENTO, CA — Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) announced this week that AB 2022, legislation to expand property tax exemptions for disabled veteran homeowners, has passed out of the Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee with bipartisan support.

AB 2022 seeks to provide meaningful tax relief to disabled veterans by helping reduce the financial burden of homeownership, ensuring those who have sacrificed for our country can more easily afford to remain in their homes.

“As Vice Chair of the Assembly Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, I made a commitment to come to Sacramento and be a fighter for the men and women who have served our nation,” said Assemblyman Gonzalez. “AB 2022 is about keeping that promise — standing up for our disabled veterans and making sure they receive the support and recognition they have earned.”

The bill is part of Assemblyman Gonzalez’s broader effort to improve affordability for California families while prioritizing those who have given so much in service to the country.

AB 2022 will next be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
