Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez Honors Coachella Valley High School Girls Soccer Team for Historic CIF Run

COACHELLA, CA— Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) this weekend honored the Coachella Valley High School girls soccer team for their remarkable and historic season, which culminated in a trip to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Championship.


On Saturday, May 2, 2026, the team was recognized during a special ceremony in the City of Coachella, where the players were presented with the keys to the city in celebration of their extraordinary achievement and the pride they brought to the community. 

Assemblyman Gonzalez also presented the team with an official resolution from the California State Assembly honoring their historic accomplishment.


“The Lady Arabs have made our entire community, their families, and their friends incredibly proud,” said Assemblyman Gonzalez. “Their hard work, resilience, and determination have inspired so many across the Coachella Valley. They didn’t just make history on the field, they showed what’s possible when you believe in each other and never give up.”


The Coachella Valley High School girls soccer team made an unprecedented run to the CIF State Championship game, marking one of the most successful seasons in school history and earning recognition throughout the region.


Assemblyman Gonzalez commended the student-athletes, coaches, and families for their dedication and for representing the Coachella Valley with excellence both on and off the field.


“Moments like this remind us how powerful sports can be in bringing a community together,” Gonzalez added. “These young women are role models, and their legacy will inspire future generations.”
