SACRAMENTO, CA— This week Assemblyman Jeff Gonzalez (R-Indio) received the Leadership Award from Chabad of Rancho Mirage, The Torah Oasis, for his work supporting the Jewish community and confronting antisemitism across the Coachella Valley.
The event, themed “Countering Hate with Courage,” highlighted the importance of standing united against hate and violence of any kind.
“I am grateful for this honor and proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Jewish community,” Gonzalez said. “Standing up to hate is not only courageous, It is our responsibility.”
Gonzalez thanked Chabad for its ongoing leadership and service in the Coachella Valley.
“Thank you to Chabad of Rancho Mirage, Jewish Federation of the Desert and all those working every day to lift up the Jewish community,” he said.
